Green Card Youth Voices: Immigration Stories from a Fargo High School at Fargo Public Library
May 3 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm| Free
The Fargo Public Library will host a book reading event featuring some of the student authors of the recently released book Green Card Youth Voices: Immigration Stories from a Fargo High School on Wednesday, May 3, at 7 p.m. at the downtown Main Library. Three student authors, Biak Sung, Badal Mongar and Glorioza Nduwimana, will read their narratives from the book and will answer questions about their journeys, their lives, their hopes and their dreams. This event is free and open to all ages. A book signing will follow the presentation and books will be available for purchase. For details, contact Melisa Duncan at 701-476-4076 or email email@example.com.
A collection of 30 students’ immigration stories, the book is designed to generate awareness about the immigration experience and provide young immigrants with a platform to tell their own narratives, in exactly the ways they want them to be heard.
This book is a project of the Minneapolis-based nonprofit Green Card Voices which provides adult immigrants, and more recently, immigrants who are high school students, with a platform to share their personal stories concerning their journey to America. Fargo Public Library events are free and open to the public.
