ST(ART) Project Art Auction at Revland Gallery
April 27 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The Revland Gallery has been proud to display the work of area college student artists on our building since October 2016. Since we are moving on from this current location we are celebrating with a closing reception and opportunity for people to see the student works up close and have a chance to bid on them in a silent auction.
“This temporary gallery space gave us the chance to extend our gallery to Broadway featuring the student work as public art while helping to launch the careers of talented student artists, aspire to become professional artists,” says gallery owner Steve Revland.
Students painted on either a 4 x 4’ or 4 x 5’ MDO board using START Project sponsor Hirshfield’s exterior house paint. The students had nine color options to choose from for their work.
An online Facebook auction has been created and is currently open for viewing and bidding on Revland Gallery Facebook page. Auction will culminate with final bids being made at the closing event, Thursday, April 27, from 6 – 8 pm at Revland Gallery. Students will receive 50% of the sale price and 25% will be donated to the art department of each artist’s school as scholarship funds and 25% goes to Revland Gallery.
Anyone interested in placing a bid prior to the closing reception, can stop in the Revland Gallery, message the gallery on Facebook, or call Steve Revland (701-293-3225). Revland Gallery will also honor middle school art club students from Carl Ben Eielson by displaying a large mural they created. We are featuring their work as part of our Blank Page Project, created by Revland Gallery intern, Kayla Twogood of MSUM.
