Call for Artists: Partner Emily Vieweg Seeking Visual Artist to Create Broadside Prints for Her Poetry

Are you a visual artist? Do you like to collaborate with other artists? If so, local poet Emily Vieweg has a cool opportunity for you!

Vieweg is currently searching for a visual artist to create broadside prints to accompany her poetry. Many of her poems have concrete imagery, but she’s looking for a visual artist that can dig deeper and find inspiration in her words.

“Broadside prints are pieces of art, meant to be framed and hung on the wall,” Vieweg says. “I believe a visual artist has the creativity to see beyond my words and create a drawing or painting that will enhance the language and overall effectiveness of the poem(s).”

Her poem “Vultures” (available to read at www.spillwords.com/vultures), for example, is a possible contender for artist inspiration. But the artist could also create work for her other poems.

If you’re interested (or know someone who may be interested), you can contact Emily Vieweg via email at emily.vieweg@gmail.com. Since this is her first venture into this type of collaboration, Vieweg is open to discuss compensation with the artist.
