The Fargo Theatre, Concordia Orchestra Team Up for “Frankenstein Live!” Tuesday
The Fargo Theatre and The Concordia Orchestra are partnering to create a night of spectacular cinematic and live musical performance.
At 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, the theatre plays the 1931 classic “Frankenstein” while the Orchestra accompanies the screening of the film with a live performance of Michael Shapiro’s modern new score.
“The event is a truly unique opportunity here in Fargo-Moorhead, who knows when an event like this will happen again in our area,” said Kevin Sutterlin, conductor of the Concordia Orchestra. Sutterlin is excited to sit back and watch his Orchestra perform while Shapiro conducts.
He says the atmosphere in The Fargo Theatre is his favorite, and now combined with this unique event is truly magnificent.
His students have been working incredibly hard to make this piece as iconic as it should be, perfecting the piece with as little as five rehearsals. He added that his students are most excited to work with renowned composer Shapiro.
Emily Beck, Fargo Theatre Executive Director adds, “The Fargo Theatre is thrilled to partner with The Concordia Orchestra on this exciting event. The live score will breathe new life into a beloved silent film and give movie lovers a singular experience.”
This is the first time this score is being performed in North Dakota and The Fargo Theatre and the Concordia Orchestra would love you to come “See the film. Feel the music.”
Tickets are available in person at the Fargo Theatre. For more information, visit www.fargotheatre.org.
