Fargo Moorhead Community Theatre is pleased to announce the next mainstage production of its historic 70th season will be Almost, Maine by John Cariani. Selected by the American National Theatre as one of the most outstanding regional theatre productions of the 2004-2005 season and featured in New Playwrights: Best Plays of 2006, Almost, Maine is a ‘real romantic comedy’ about falling in and out of love in a town so far north it’s “almost” not in the United States. For Fargo, a city that proudly proclaims its identity, “North of Normal”, local patrons will be happy to see the many parallels between fact and fiction!
Directed by Dr. David Wheeler, Almost, Maine consists of a cast of four who play nineteen characters in nine vignettes about love and all its forms. This show, full of wit, love, and magic feature many of the ways humans encounter love including: a woman mourning her husband and meeting a new man, a couple desperately trying to find honesty in keeping their marriage alive, and two snowmobiling friends, one of whom confesses their love much to the other’s surprise. Almost, Maine will provide a tender, clever, and joyful moment for every patron in town.
The cast features: Kate Aarness, Anthony Birklid, Rachel Honz and Billy Schnase. Stage Managed by Kendra Buro.
