Nichole’s Fine Pastry Purchases New Works for Corporate Art Collection
TAP wants to send a “well done!” to Nichole’s Fine Pastry, which recently acquired two art works for its burgeoning corporate art collection. Art has been part of Nichole’s Fine Pastry since its inception, with rotating art exhibits that provide patrons with beautiful, interesting art to look at while supporting artists from the Metro area.
Partner Kari Lugo’s photograph Sweethearts was one of the acquisitions. The photo captures the artist’s parents at Nichole’s. Her mother, bound to a wheel chair due to ALS, is unable to feed herself, so her father lovingly feeds her every day. Lugo has been exploring life through photography for the last 10 years, and has exhibited her photographs at non-traditional venues throughout the Metro.
Lugo’s work and Cupcake by Grady Carlson both came from a special exhibit of artworks at Nichole’s intended to capture the essence of what makes Nichole’s special. Carlson’s work won the purchase prize. His work is found in private and corporate collections throughout the region, and was an award-winning entry at the 2016 U.S. Bank Stadium Artist Selection, Minneapolis, MN.
