The Arts Partnership awarded $117,550 in grants in 2026 to nonprofit organizations and artists in the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo community through four grant programs. Congratulations to this year’s recipients!
City Arts Partnership Grants
The City Arts Partnership Grants provide general operating support to arts-and-culture organizations.
Fargo Theatre $10,000 + $1,500 bonus = $11,500
To preserve the historic integrity of the Theatre while expanding its ability to meet the artistic and entertainment needs of increasingly diverse audiences, performers and filmmakers.
Fargo-Moorhead Area Youth Symphonies $3,000
To provide a rigorous orchestral experience that challenges dedicated youth to reach their full potential musically and personally and emerge as dynamic members of the community.
Fargo-Moorhead Choral Artists $4,750
To provide an outlet for musicians who are passionate about singing at a high-performance level and preserving the choral music art form.
Fargo-Moorhead Opera $9,000
To provide high quality opera performances; to develop an appreciation for opera; and to establish an educational outreach program to serve the region’s schools and colleges.
Fargo-Moorhead Symphony $9,000
To serve the community by enriching, educating and engaging people of all ages through inspired performances of orchestral and chamber music.
Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County $9,250
To collect, preserve, interpret and share the history and culture – including the arts, a vital part of human history – of Clay County, MN.
Plains Art Museum $9,500
To connect art, artists, and audiences to foster creative, resilient, and welcoming communities.
Rourke Art Museum $4,750
To educate and inspire the community through the collection, presentation and preservation of the region’s and the world’s artistic heritage.
Stage West $5,000
To integrate exceptional cultural experiences that engage art supporters, as part of fulfilling the mission of West Fargo Events (its umbrella organization) to provide community events to enhance the public experience in the City of West Fargo.
Theatre B $5,000 + $1,000 bonus = $6,000
To invigorate civic conversation through intimate and transformative storytelling.
Trollwood Performing Arts School $6,000
To inspire those they serve through the arts to realize their full potential and be a positive influence in the global community.
Community Arts Partnership Grants
Community Arts Partnership Grants provide general operating support to smaller arts-and-culture organizations and other arts-and-culture organizations not eligible for CAP funding.
Fargo-Moorhead Ballet $1,500
To bring the joy of dance and transform lives through performance, dance training and community engagement.
Fargo-Moorhead Visual Artists $2,000
To promote and support quality visual arts in the area by educating and encouraging visual artists and their communities.
Fargo-Moorhead Youth Choir $1,500
To provide K-12 students the opportunity to rehearse and perform choral music with skill and understanding.
Gooseberry Park Players $1,850
To provide an exceptional, fee-free unique educational and multi-generational summer theatre experience for youth ages 11-18.
Kicks Band of FM $2,500 + $750 bonus = $3,250
To educate, perform and promote jazz, America’s original art form.
Learning Bank $2,250
Toward its Fine Arts Series, which provides every child in Grades 1-5 in the three school districts with access to experiences with the visual and performing arts.
Master Chorale of FM $1,850
To offer opportunities to perform quality choral music beyond the church or collegiate setting.
Nordic Culture Clubs $600
To preserve, celebrate and perpetuate Nordic Cultures.
Red River Watercolor Society $500
To advance the application and education of the community, and artists of all levels, about water media.
United Chinese Americans Fargo-Moorhead $500
To promote fellowship and friendship and increase public awareness of Chinese arts and culture.
Individual Artist Grants
Individual Artist Grants support artists, musicians, performers, artisans, writers, creatives and culture bearers working in any artistic genre and who are at any career stage.
Oksana Bihun $2,500
Toward recording and performing Gentle Flower, an album of original vocal-piano songs that creates a supportive healing space and shared connection.
Chris Franz $2,500
Toward costs related to preparations for Three Ways Home, a photographic exhibition by Franz and two other photographers.
Annette Marchand $2,500
Toward costs associated with installing a dedicated glaze booth in her studio with the aim of strengthening her long-term artistic practice.
Zeapoe Matalda $2,500
Toward the production of a short film featuring local performers in a high-stakes action-comedy film about the paradigms of American society.
Rachel Vada Murphy $1,800
To purchase a printer able to print images larger than 8.5” X 11” to increase the scale of her photographic work.
W. Scott Olsen $2,500
Toward costs related to a photo exhibition and possible book, titled Lonely Roads, the least traveled roads in the states that make up the Great Plains.
Lesleyanne Wild $1,350
Toward creation of a live immersive experience, in which oil-and-water plates are manipulated to create intriguing visual compositions projected onto a large screen while musicians play.
Tobias Zikmund $1,350
Toward costs associate with an outdoor installation of large-scale, quilt-like banners.
Art for All Grants
Art for All Grants encourage health and human services nonprofits that do not have an arts-related mission to incorporate the arts into their mission-based work. Funded by Choice Bank.
Friends of the Children Fargo-Moorhead $1,750
Toward a summer art experience for youth to create a mixed media self-portrait over six weeks. The session, led by an artist who is also an arts therapist, will build confidence while allowing the participants to explore creativity and share their voices through art.
Hope, Inc. Adaptive Sports & Recreation $1,750
Toward an adaptive theatre production in collaboration with Theatre B that empowers participants to explore the performing arts in an accessible and inclusive environment. Participants develop performing skills and stage confidence and nurture each other’s natural abilities and talents.
Indigenous Legacy $1,750
Toward a project in which indigenous youth, elders and community members will work weekly to learn from each other the meanings of the regalia (jingle dresses, fancy shawls and traditional clothing) they will make. In the process, the elders will help the youth learn math, geometry, reading skills and the history of the item they are making and the item’s accompanying dance.
Jasmin Child Care and Preschool $1,750
Toward a series of arts experiences rooted in African traditions for 40 children and 10 adults. It will feature five activities: African batik, basket weaving, identify painting, henna art and a Somali oral poetry session led by an elder.
