The Arts Partnership continues ArtWORKS programming at the Fargo Airport with musical performances this year. With ongoing visual art displays above the baggage claim, the Airport knows that the arts create a welcoming environment for travelers, whether from the Metro or beyond.
We couldn’t agree more!
We are looking for musicians interested in performing 45-minute mini-concerts during the lunch hour on week days. We’ll have three series of concerts – one stretching from mid-November through early January, another in March and another in June and July.
We have already tentatively booked our Fall/Winter series, but would like to have a list of performers interested in the Spring or Summer series or performers who might be available to perform in a pinch during the Fall/Winter series. (Last year, bad weather canceled some of the performances and the performers were unable to reschedule, so we’d like to have backup options available.)
Tiana Grisé and Jane Linde Capistran perform at the Fargo Airport.
We welcome a range of performers, from singer songwriters to tuba quartets to jazz duos, from country music to classical and everything in between. Each act will receive a $150 stipend.
We want the musicians to be as safe as possible while they perform, which is why we’re limiting ensembles to a maximum of 5. Soloists and duos will perform on the landing to the right of the up escalator, by the café – there would be enough room for two performers to be socially distanced without impeding pedestrian traffic. Ensembles would likely perform on the main floor, to the left/west of the escalators.
In addition to the new Mayoral mask mandate, the Fargo Airport will set up a stanchion around or in front of the musicians during performances. And we’d appreciate that instrumentalists take the appropriate cautions (for example, bell covers or adaptive masks).
If you’re interested or would like additional details, please email Tania Blanich at tania@theartspartnership.net. To be considered for our spring series, please reach out before January 15.
