Application Form

Challenge the social custom of giving boring store-bought greeting cards for every occasion by participating in Subversive Celebration: International Altered Card Exhibition. Artist Klaire A. Lockheart wants you to help celebrate her birthday by altering a standard greeting card into a work of art, which she will display at Gallery 110 in the Warren M. Lee Center of Fine Arts at the University of South Dakota. All entries that follow the guidelines will be included in the show from March 4-27, 2020. The reception will be on March 4, 2020 from 5-7 pm. An online gallery will be available through www.klairelockheart.com.

Any artist worldwide can submit an altered card. This can be any type of greeting card as long as it is changed, manipulated, or mutated. It can be a birthday card. It can be an anniversary card. Even better, it can be a regifted/recycled card. The entry fee is $20. No artwork will be returned. (This is a birthday celebration, folks!) For an additional $10, you will receive a personalized thank you card for participating in the exhibition.
