Masterworks 5: Desire – A Powerful Masterworks Finale

Join the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra for the grand conclusion of our Masterworks season on April 26 & 27! Desire is a program filled with music that speaks to deep emotions—longing, devotion, and the human spirit’s relentless pursuit of connection.

From the stirring drama of Tchaikovsky’s Romeo & Juliet to the heartfelt beauty of Mahler’s Adagietto, this concert explores music’s ability to convey passion and purpose. Berlioz’s Beatrice and Benedict Overture sets an energetic tone, while Mascagni’s Intermezzo offers a moment of quiet reflection. Wagner’s Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan and Isolde provides a sweeping conclusion to this unforgettable program.

We are also thrilled to feature Boyd Meets Girl Duo—guitarist Rupert Boyd and cellist Laura Metcalf—performing Anahata, a concerto by composer Clarice Assad.

Don’t miss this final Masterworks concert of the season—a moving and dynamic evening of music that will leave a lasting impression.
