NDSU Chamber Music Festival at Beckwith Recital Hall

NDSU hosts the 2019 NDSU Chamber Music Festival between May 30 – June 4

The NDSU Chamber Music Festival, now heading into its 5th-Anniversary Season, brings the Fargo-Moorhead community intimate and exhilarating encounters with great chamber music performed by world-class musicians alongside NDSU student pianists.

The 5th Anniversary Season features Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Sonja Harasim as well as the much-anticipated return of cellist Colin Carr, globe-trotting soloist, chamber music A-lister, and faculty member at the Royal Conservatory of Musicin London. Guest artists for this season will also include members of the Milwaukee Symphony as well as other members of the FMSO and faculty members from NDSU and Concordia College.

The Chamber Festival has additionally featured musicians from top orchestras and universities across the country and world, including Carnegie Mellon University, Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the Colorado Symphony, the South Dakota Symphony, and Ohio University.

“Chamber music is special in that these mighty composers have created personal works that implicate performer and listener alike as the music unfolds—at times moving, at times exciting or even humorous,” said Tyler Wottrich, festival artistic director and assistant professor of piano at NDSU. “We invite you to join us in this 5th Anniversary of the NDSU Chamber Music Festival as NDSU student pianists work with professional string players to bring this incredible music to life.”
