SUMMARY:Fargo Reforest the Red
DESCRIPTION:September 12\, 2023 – Noon to 7:00 pm – Lindenwood Park\, Fargo \nJoin us as we plant thousands of trees and shrubs along the Red River! \nDevelopment and cultural practices have prevented natural regeneration of trees along the banks of the river. Planting trees in key areas along the Red creates a buffer to maintain riverbank stability\, encourage the growth of native plants\, improve water quality\, and provide habitat for river wildlife. Trees reduce air pollution\, cool the atmosphere\, prevent soil erosion ease the severity of floods and decrease maintenance costs of roads and parking areas. \nVolunteers will dig holes\, plant\, mulch and water larger trees that range from 5-7 ft tall. Short trainings will be held throughout the event. \nBack up weather date is September 13. \nTo volunteer for this project\, contact Kim at 701.356.8915\, Kimberly@riverkeepers.org or register online HERE. \nProject partners include: City of Fargo\, Fargo Park District\, River Keepers\, and Cass County Soil Conservation District \n#SustaintheRed #ILoveFargo
