The region's annual celebration of the local arts sector

State of the Arts (SOTA) is an annual event hosted by The Arts Partnership that brings the arts and business sectors together to recognize the cultural and economic power of arts in the Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo communities.

SOTA is a wonderful way for professionals from all sectors of the business community to learn more about the vital ways local arts fuel the local economy and improves the well-being of all.

During the event, we also announce the recipients of the City Arts Partnership, Community Cultivation, Art for All, and Individual Artist grants.

2024 SOTA: adapting local art into workplace culture

TAP Executive Director Tania Blanich presented an overview of the economic impact of local arts and shared data from the Arts and Economic Prosperity 6 report, a robust national study conducted by the Americans for the Arts that examines the cultural and economic strength of local arts in communities across the country.

FM Convention and Visitors Bureau President and CEO Charley Johnson moderated a panel on the myriad benefits of incorporating art in the workplace, with NDSU Business School Dean Kathryn Birkeland, Marvin Community Liaison Cairn Reisch, and Choice AVP of Marketing Shelley Szudera.
