We’re celebrating 50 years – join us!

We have a surprise thank you for when you donate to #supportlocalart

It’s that time again, we’re gearing up for the fall campaign!

First of all, it’s our fall campaign. if you’ve already donated, thank you so, so much! We can’t do our work without your support, and we appreciate each and every one of you who enable us to #SupportLocalArt.

If you haven’t yet given, here’s the link to donate now.

We’re throwing a thank you party

Secondly, we are delighted and grateful to announce that this year’s Salon Party is sponsored by Choice Bank. That means all the funds we collect will go straight to work supporting local art.

Donate $50 or more to the campaign and receive a private link to Salon Party on Sunday, October 11 at 4pm.

Donate $250 or more by October 7, and my staff or I will hand-deliver a bottle of wine (or something nonalcoholic) and cookies from Nichole’s Fine Pastry to your house on the 11th before the party.

With apprised takes on art, the scheduled speakers both have a connection through music, with Hamzat Koriko’s interests lying in drums and percussion and the Silver Winds with their flute ensemble.

Here’s some more on our featured guests:

1. Silver Winds Flute Quartet

The Silver Winds are a group of professional flute players that perform locally in Fargo-Moorhead. Making up the Silver Winds, members Kirstin Carlson, Deb Haarsager, Peggy Hammerling and Erika Tomten, have experience playing in concert bands, symphonies and performing arts organizations in the area.

In this four-minute clip shot by Communications Coordinator Ethan Mickelson, the group performs “Over the Rainbow” by Harold Arlen, arr. by Calvin Custer.

2. Hamzat Koriko and his nonprofit African Arts Arena

Koriko earned a PhD in educational foundations and research from the University of North Dakota. He founded African Arts Arena with the goal of educating community members through arts, conferences, workshops across the state, teaching people about African cultures to promote cultural tolerance in the community.

And just because they are funny, these were taken at a session Hamzat and I were part of together last year when we attended the SOCAP conference in San Fransisco through the Bush Foundation. We won’t replicate this at Salon Party, I promise! 😂

P.S. We still have shares for Community Supported Art!

Want to purchase a share of the 2021 CSA, our 10th season? Do that here. And share this link with your friends–they could be enjoying CSA, too!

BONUS: Purchase a share of CSA before October 10 and get the link to Salon Party as a thank you!

Pre-order CSA poet Emily Vieweg’s book

Did you love Emily Viewig’s poetry at the July CSA party? You can preorder her book of poetry, but the flames here. Watch a clip of her work as performed by the 2018 North Dakota Poetry Out Loud winner (and top nine national finalist!) Maria Modi Tuya.

You are the key to supporting local art!

It’s a busy month for The Arts Partnership, but it’s all so exciting. And we can’t wait to celebrate all this with you! Thanks, again, for all your support over the years–no nonprofit gets to 50 years without a lot of support from a lot of people along the way, and we know how fortunate we are to have you with us as we continue to #SupportLocalArt.
