The Importance of Poetry

Bill Thomas of Prairie Public Radio recently asked me to join him and Merrill Piepkorn to talk about the State Poetry Contest that was recently held in Bismarck on “Hear it Now”. I joined to talk about the importance of poetry, the nuances of reciting from memory, and the ability of the state contestants to engage the audience. Being on the radio is incredibly fun, and I got to use my “radio voice.” Plus, I got to put in a plug for The Arts Partnership–always a good thing!
