Welcome to Cumberland, Minnesota! 1972 invites you for a visit with the locals while they produce their local cable access show, ‘The Greater Cumberland County Cooking Show’. The film’s characters include lifelong friends who must learn to navigate newfound jealousies, competing desires, and not-so-friendly competition. Moorhead, MN filmmaker Janet Haak Brandau wrote, produced, and directed this comic look at rural Minnesota living and community ties in a time gone by.
This film presentation is free and open to the public and includes a screening of the film followed by a discussion of food, friendship, and community. The event will be held at the Moorhead Public Library on April 20 at 2:00 PM. Light refreshments will be served. Come join the conversation!
