The Quartet is comprised of Kirstin Carlson, Deb Haarsager, Peggy Hammerling and Erika Tomten. They regularly perform throughout the region, playing everything from classical to jazz, pop and Celtic music. This noontime concert will feature holiday tunes.
This concert is part of the ArtWORKS musical performances organized by The Arts Partnership at Hector Airport. The musical groups are positioned by the cafe on the 2nd floor of the Airport – and nontravelers are certainly welcome to come enjoy the music and perhaps lunch or a cup of coffee at the cafe.
The musicians:
Kirstin Carlson, a band director at Ben Franklin Middle School in Fargo, ND, is a private flute teacher. She performs with the Master Chorale of Fargo-Moorhead and is an active freelance performer.
Deb Haarsager, a member of the Quartet since its inception in 2002, also plays in the Lake Agassiz Wind Symphony and participates in the worship ministry at her church. She is a retired litigation paralegal.
Peggy Hammerling taught flute and coached chamber music ensembles at Valley City State University in North Dakota and at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, until her recent retirement.
Erika Tomten has performed in numerous music ensembles in the Midwest and Pacific Northwest, and taught private and group flute lessons for over 15 years. She works for local nonprofit Haley’s Hope.
