Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet gets trimmed and sharpened in this fresh adaptation from Theatre B’s Artistic Director, Jon Micheels Leiseth. Set in an imagined world that fuses the styles from the Italian Renaissance and 1940’s Italy, this fresh take is full of momentum, movement, and music that is thoroughly modern. Amid this sumptuous danger, the ‘star-crossed lovers’ attempt to bridge the boundaries that the authority and family have set to keep them apart. True enough to the original for the fans of the Bard, crisp and clear enough for the easily bored, with twists to intrigue the familiar.
